Learning Space Design Standards have been developed by the Office of Campus Learning Environments (OCLE) to facilitate, encourage and enable the use of active learning pedagogies throughout the University of Illinois at Chicago campus.
These design standards apply to new construction as well as to renovation of existing formal learning spaces at UIC. The Standards offer design direction to Faculty and Administrators, UIC Project Managers, and Design Consultants.
The OCLE is planning the renovation of approximately 12 classrooms during the 2017-2018 academic year. Click here for more information.
The Office of Campus Learning Environments has renovated over 170 classrooms to varying degrees across the east and west campuses. The scope of work of each classroom renovation can be found here and projects are organized by campus, building and room number.
